Electricité de France's scientific council was set up just twenty years ago.

Alain-Jacques Valleron, Jacques Bouchard, Pierre Castillon, Stéphane Andrieux, Eric Spitz, Paul Godin, Yves Bamberger

To supplement the company's internal system for laying down guidelines and priority research initiatives, working out their programmes, and assessing their efficiency with an advisory body made up of highly-respected scientists giving the company their advice and opinions on the company's choice of research actions over the medium and long term.

The Council has been given three missions as part of the general guidelines laid down on its inception, encompassing the areas of evaluation and assistance in long-term planning.

  • Proffer opinions on the suitability of programmes for new prospects revealed by scientific and technical advances in the fields concerning the company.
  • Help situate the company's research activity in the global context.
  • Help the company assess the support of more fundamental research work, the outcome of which could significantly influence its activity in the long term.
