EDF and the CETHIL (Centre de Thermique de Lyon) launched in 2005 a joint laboratory on the high efficiency energy buildings.

R&D will show that it is possible to save energy by having occupants integrate innovative, economically and socially acceptable technologies into buildings, and that this can also be a source of new services and activities.
