EDF - Design

By comparing various approaches and disciplines, the aim of this research programme is to come up with new scenarios for more efficient use of energy in the home, at work and in public places.

The R&D Design team finds more efficient products like heat pumps, energy recovery principles and even strategies to better integrate renewables into buildings. On the other hand, through various long-term projects, EDF sketches a future where energy information will be provided in the home to notify the occupants of its different statuses and to help them act accordingly. The items designed mark the electric flow with light to show, in a sensitive and intuitive manner, the level of consumption of certain appliances or daily situations.
