Industry: improving efficiency and new electricity end uses
The global energy environment is such that both large industrial groups and SMEs will need to continue to make efforts in the area of energy efficiency, and new processes will have to be implemented.

The potentially significant energy efficiency market that will result from these requirements is a major opportunity for the EDF Group. The goal of the challenge is to allow the Group to build on its positions, based on three angles of approach:
Developing electrical end uses and processes that are innovative or more efficient in terms of energy consumption and the quality of the finished product, and intended for large industrial operations; exploring ways to substitute electricity for fossil energy (e.g. via induction).
Developing generic solutions mainly for SMEs, requiring that the least energy efficient industries be identified, that the adapted energy modelling tools be deployed, and that we come up with appropriate packaged solutions, delivering technological innovations where necessary and profitable.
Developing generic tools for remote energy diagnostics and consumption monitoring and control.
