Operator in front of the control screens of a dispatch center
Generation facilities are complex systems where equipment, I&C systems and humans - not to mention the environment - all interact. The main objective of this challenge is to assess the potential afforded by new technologies to better control the operation of these facilities.
This challenge assesses the potential afforded by new technologies to better control the operation of the generation facilities in real time and at the least possible cost, and to increase the efficiency of plant activities.
Implementing better or more measures on-site, or using them more efficiently, making more ample use of new information and communication technologies, assuring greater compatibility between information systems, improving automation, gathering and integrating relevant information and indicators, all these possibilities will be investigated in order to assess how they could allow plant staff to focus more on operational strategy, while guaranteeing safety and efficiency with just the necessary maintenance.
