EDF R&D has built a scenario that allows to shift out the direct fossil energy use in buildings, without increasing dramatically the electricity uses. This scenario is based on the dissemination of existing best technologies, as efficient thermal insulation, heat pumps and biomass for space heating, and solar. It has been published in the french foresight monthly journal "Futuribles" buildings without any fossil energy in France in 2050 ?
