Code_Aster. EDF has been developing for 20 years its own numerical simulation software for structural analysis: Code_Aster. Widely used in-house for verification and maintenance of power plants and electrical networks, this tool covers a large range of applications such as 3D thermal and mechanical analysis in linear and non-linear statics and dynamics. It can be applied to machines, pressure vessels and civil engineering structures and so on. Beyond the standard and all-purpose functionalities of a Finite Elements Method software for structural and solid mechanics, Code_Aster is compiling the numerical models elaborated by the EDF's research activity in mechanics : fatigue, damage, fracture, contact, geo-materials, porous media, multi-physics coupling.
Code_Saturne is EDF's general purpose Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. It can handle either incompressible or expandable flows with or without heat transfer and turbulence. Dedicated modules are available for radiative heat transfer, combustion (gas, coal, heavy fuel oil), magneto-hydrodynamics, and Lagrangian particle tracking.
Salomé is a free software that provides a generic platform for Pre and Post-Processing for numerical simulation.
Sim-Diasca (which stands for Simulation of Discrete Systems of All Scales) is a discrete simulation engine aiming for maximum concurrency. It is developed by EDF R&D and released under the LGPL license..
SYRTHES is a general purpose thermal software developed at EDF R&D which models conduction and radiation heat transfers in complex geometries
TELEMAC enables flow calculations in aquatic environments. 180 licences sold, notably to the world's large hydraulic laboratories.

BRT-CICERO EDF has developed a software called BRT-CICEROTM for the surveillance of the secondary piping system of its Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs). The software enables the operator to calculate the wear rates taking into account all the influencing parameters such as : pipe isometrics, chromium content of the steel, chemical conditioning and operating parameters of the secondary circuit (temperature, pressure, etc...).
KB3 - Discover a set of tools to perform dependability and safety analyses with a high degree of automation
Risk-BU is a software that allows to model a portfolio (customers contracts, generation assets, hedging contracts and financial contracts) and to simulate the portfolio management for different prices scenarios. Simulation results are used to compute risk indicators : mark to market, Greeks (delta, gamma, etc..), Value at Risk (VaR), Earnings at Risk (EaR).
